Black Bart–notorious stagecoach robber and gentleman bandit along the trails of Northern California and Oregon, had a reputation for style and sophistication, even leaving poetic messages behind at the scene of his robberies. Make no mistake, though…he was a quick with a revolver as with his pen. He disappeared without a trace in 1888 while being tailed by Wells Fargo detectives.
